Church of the Assumption, Baroque church in Holešov, Czech Republic
The Church of the Assumption presents a grand Baroque facade with intricate decorative elements and a prominent Black Chapel added in 1748.
Construction of the church commenced in 1708 during the reconstruction period of Holešov, following extensive damage from the Thirty Years' War.
The Black Chapel within the church functions as a burial crypt for two noble families, the Rottals and Vrbnas, who influenced regional development.
The church maintains regular opening hours for visitors and serves as an active religious center for the 12,000 residents of Holešov.
The Ministry of Culture recognizes this church through a specific identifier in the Central List of Cultural Monuments of the Czech Republic.
