The Maria Column in Kroměříž is a Baroque monument standing in the town's main square, topped with a figure of the Virgin Mary. Sandstone statues of saints adorn the base, creating an ornately decorated religious structure.
The monument was built between 1680 and 1681 following a plague epidemic that had devastated the town. Its construction expressed the gratitude and hopes of residents for divine protection.
