Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary

Italian architect Carlo Lurago designed this building, which was constructed between 1654 and 1666 as part of a Jesuit college. After the Jesuit order dissolved, it became a garrison church and later suffered damage during military conflicts.

The name honors the Virgin Mary, which holds deep meaning in Czech religious tradition. Visitors notice the artistic religious scenes inside that reflect how faith shaped the city's life.
