Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, Baroque church in Grand Square, Hradec Králové, Czech Republic.

The Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary is a single-nave Baroque church on Velké náměstí, built 1654–1666 to a plan by Carl Lurago derived from the Jesuit church Il Gesù. Its facade has two 44.2 m towers and statues of St. Ignatius, St. Francis Xavier, St. Aloysius and St. Stanislaus from 1704. The nave is 40 m long, 20 m wide and 20.3 m high, with a lantern reaching 30 m.

Italian architect Carlo Lurago designed this building, which was constructed between 1654 and 1666 as part of a Jesuit college. After the Jesuit order dissolved, it became a garrison church and later suffered damage during military conflicts.

The church is dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, celebrated on 15 August. The Chapel of St Joseph on the east side has its own entrance and holds a fresco altar with a painting of the Holy Family by Josef Kramolín. On the walls hang fourteen Stations of the Cross by academic painter Ludmila Jandová.

The entrance is in the northern facade, not on the square's south side. Look for the statues of St. Ignatius, St. Francis Xavier, St. Aloysius and St. Stanislaus placed in the niches in 1704. The Chapel of St. Joseph on the east side has its own separate entrance.

The chapel of St. Ignatius of Loyola, the only part to survive the 1762 fire, holds Peter Brandl's painting The Glorification of St. Ignatius, painted around 1730.
