The Maria column in Mladá Boleslav stands in the Staroměstské náměstí and features a statue of the Virgin Mary mounted on an ornate Baroque pedestal with detailed stone carvings. The monument displays characteristic column proportions with decorative elements that reflect the craftsmanship of its era.

The sandstone column was built in 1681 at the expense of Mladá Boleslav burghers as thanks for the end of the 1680 plague and to ward off future outbreaks. In 1710 the town council resolved that litanies be sung beneath it every Saturday. Four statues of Czech patrons stood on its pedestals until they were removed during an 1880s reconstruction by sculptor Hugo Mauerman and never replaced.

The gilded half-life-size statue of the Virgin Mary with joined hands and a halo stands at the top of the column. In 1710 the town council, with dean Šolc present, resolved that litanies be sung beneath the column every Saturday. The four statues of Czech patrons that stood on the pedestals until 1885 or 1886 were removed during sculptor Hugo Mauerman's reconstruction and never replaced.

The column stands on the Staroměstské náměstí in the old town, on sandstone steps that raise it above the paving, so it can be walked around and viewed from all sides. The square is level and open, and the monument is passed on foot while crossing the centre of Mladá Boleslav.

The monument holds the identification number 41773/2-1668 in the Czech cultural heritage registry and has protected status under national conservation laws. This designation officially recognizes it as an important part of the nation's legacy and ensures strict preservation standards.
