Třebonín

Třebonín is a castle ruin on elevated ground with remaining stone walls and foundations surrounded by local vegetation. The structures display medieval defensive architecture characteristic of fortifications built during the 12th and 13th centuries.

The fortress was established between the 12th and 13th centuries under Úbislav of Třebonín as a strategic defensive site. Regional conflicts eventually led to its abandonment and decay into the state seen today.

The site shows how people built and defended their strongholds in the Middle Ages through remaining stone elements and wall structures. Local history has long connected this place to the region's medieval settlements and their protective role.

Sturdy footwear is essential for exploring the uneven terrain and rocky areas safely. Access can be limited during winter months, and parking is available at the base of the hill.

A nearby stream is called Bell Stream because villagers discovered a medieval church bell in its waters centuries ago. This finding connects the site to a curious local legend that has survived through generations.
