Church of Saint Peter, Romanesque church in Poříčí nad Sázavou, Czech Republic
The Church of Saint Peter features four towers and a separate bell tower, with its structure incorporating both Romanesque and Gothic architectural elements.
The church was constructed in the second half of the 12th century as a Romanesque basilica and underwent Gothic reconstruction between 1382 and 1395.
The Knights of the Cross with the Red Star maintain this religious structure, which holds regular Catholic services throughout the week for the local community.
Visitors can attend masses on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 16:30, Saturdays at 8:00, and Sundays at 10:30 in this cultural monument.
The church experienced a distinctive period during Hussite times when it adopted the practice of giving both bread and wine to all congregation members.
