Church of Saints Peter and Paul

The Church of Saints Peter and Paul is a place of worship in the Radotín district with two towers that shape the local skyline. The structure combines different architectural layers from different periods, showing features of multiple building styles.

The site received a Romanesque chapel in the 11th century, marking the first religious activity at this location. Over the centuries, the structure was expanded and rebuilt, eventually adopting the present form with features from multiple architectural periods.

The interior displays a Baroque design that has welcomed worshippers since the 18th century. This decoration and layout reflect how religious spaces adapted and changed over time in the region.

Access is available via public transportation near the Šilingrovo náměstí square, making a visit convenient. Visitors should check opening hours and wear respectful clothing, especially during active services or ceremonies.

Excavations in the late 1900s uncovered original Romanesque foundations beneath the current building, revealing evidence of the site's oldest phase. These archaeological discoveries demonstrate continuous religious use of this location over more than 1,000 years.
