Church of Saints Simon and Jude, Catholic church in Týnec nad Sázavou, Czech Republic.

The Church of Saints Simon and Jude is a simple, non-stylistic single-nave building with a rectangular plan, a ribless cross vault, and a flat-ceilinged presbytery ending in a shallow apse. Its facades are smooth, with bossed quoins only on the presbytery corners, and a prismatic tower stands at the west end. Rectangular windows with arched tops hold patterned glass, one bearing the dedication "Věnovala rodina Mickova l.P. 1902".

The church was probably Gothic and dates from the 14th century. In 1755 Count František Václav of Vrtba and his wife financed Baroque changes: a new presbytery with a flat ceiling, a roof turret with an old bell from Ledeč, and a new main altar. The masonry tower followed in 1765. In 1872 the reed ceiling was removed and the nave received its present cross vault.

The church is dedicated to Saints Simon and Jude, whose feast day falls on 28 October. Inside, a carved statue of Our Lady of Sorrows stands in a glass-fronted case; it was pulled intact from the Sázava River on 10 April 1700 and is said to have once stood on a bridge in Ledeč. A window bears the dedication "Věnovala rodina Mickova l.P. 1902" (donated by the Micka family in 1902).

The church stands in the centre of Týnec nad Sázavou, on the site of the old cemetery just south of the castle, with the neo-Renaissance house "U Micků" next to it. The west end of the nave carries a prismatic tower; the sacristy and a small entrance porch with stairs are on the north side. The building is a protected monument, so visits depend on services.
