Church of Saint Mary, Gothic religious monument in Rožmberk nad Vltavou, Czech Republic
The Church of Saint Mary features a 45.5-meter tower with clock faces and a spiral staircase between the north presbytery and eastern wall point.
The first written record of the church dates to 1277 when Bishop John entrusted it to Vok of Rožmberk's wife, followed by its transfer to Vyšší Brod Monastery.
The interior contains a large 17th-century fresco depicting The Death of The Virgin Mary, measuring 340 by 180 centimeters between two presbytery piers point.
The church maintains its function as an active place of worship within the Roman Catholic Diocese of České Budějovice, serving the local community.
The building underwent significant changes in 1900 when its Baroque lateral altars were replaced with Gothic ones, altering its interior appearance.
