Church of the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary, Roman Catholic church in Vlachovo Březí, Czech Republic.

The Church of the Annunciation of the Lord (also called of the Virgin Mary) is the parish church of Vlachovo Březí, built in early Baroque style in 1659–1669 at the expense of Karel Leopold of Millesimo and his wife Františka Hyzerlová of Chod. With the side chapels of St John of Nepomuk and St Barbara added in 1735 it takes the form of a cross; a tower stands at the north-east corner and a sacristy with oratory at the south-east corner.

The Church of the Annunciation of the Lord was built between 1659 and 1669 at the expense of Karel Leopold of Millesimo and his wife Františka Hyzerlová of Chod. It replaced a smaller Romanesque parish church mentioned in 1389, whose remains, including a semicircular portal, were uncovered in 1930. Side chapels of St John of Nepomuk and St Barbara were added in 1735.

The church is dedicated to the Annunciation of the Lord, also called the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary. The side altars of St Barbara and St John Nepomuk came from the dissolved monastery in Mikulov and bear the Dietrichstein coat of arms. The altars of St Linhart and the Visitation of the Virgin Mary carry statues of St Blaise, St Nicholas, St Dominic, St Peter and St Paul.

The building sits centrally in Vlachovo Březí and can be easily reached through its main entrance from the town center. Keep in mind that this is an active place of worship, so visitors should respect local visiting hours and routines.

The bell Karel was cast in 1592 by the Prague bell-founder Brikcí z Cymperka; it measures 100 cm across. Two further bells were added in 1970 from the workshop of Rudolf Manoušek. In the northern chapel lies a marble tombstone of a member of the Malovce family of Malovice, dated 1561.
