Church of Saint John the Baptist

The Church of Saint John the Baptist is a Gothic church building with three naves supported by pairs of columns featuring polygonal pedestals. The interior space is divided by these structures, which shape how the space feels when you walk through it.

The original structure began in the Gothic period, but its current form came mainly from rebuilding in the 15th century. At that time, a vestibule was added and a new church spire was built to make the structure visible across the area.

The church shapes the appearance of the town with its distinctive Gothic form, reflecting the architectural traditions of the region.

Entry is through an early Gothic pointed arch portal at the main entrance, which leads into the interior space. The structure is easy to locate and access, as it sits centrally within the town.

The tower houses a bell system and a mechanical clock that together mark the time and prayer hours for the community. This combination was a practical way in the past to let townspeople know about important moments of the day.
