Kolostůjova kašna, Romanesque Revival fountain in Teplice, Czech Republic
The Kolostůjova fountain features a hexagonal basin with a central column adorned with decorative pig heads that function as water spouts.
Built in 1862 to commemorate 1100 years of healing springs discovery, the fountain was designed by architects Adolf Siegmund and Heinrich Otto Siegmund.
The fountain incorporates a water nymph statue by Franz Melnitzký, symbolizing the protection of springs until its fall during World War II.
Located in the Spa Park of Teplice, the fountain underwent complete restoration in 1994 with additional park adaptations following historical patterns from 2011.
The pig head water spouts reference a local legend about the discovery of healing springs, connecting the structure to regional folklore.
