The Gate in Nahořany is a walled screen gate on road II/285 at the entrance to the village from Nové Město nad Metují. Its walls are of dressed opuka stone capped with opuka slabs, ending in two massive pillars of sandstone blocks. On the pillars lie sandstone lions facing each other across the road, carved by Antonín Sucharda. Segmental-arched foot passages flank the pillars, and a millstone is set above the right one.

Two village gates once stood at either end of Nahořany; the western one by house No. 1 has not survived. The northeastern gate, near farmstead No. 19, was built in the 19th century on the site of an earlier fortress. On 24 February 1882 the district authority ordered its demolition as an obstruction, but the village instead removed the arch and widened it, completing the work on 3 December 1885; Josef Pozdílek of farmstead No. 27 was paid 463 guilders 26 kreutzers over three years. A truck destroyed one side on 16 June 2014, and it was repaired the following year.

The gate is called "Brána do vsi" and is regarded as the symbol of Nahořany; after a truck destroyed one side in 2014, the village council immediately began preparing its reconstruction. The lions facing each other across the road are the work of sculptor Antonín Sucharda. Above the pedestrian gate on the right when coming from Nové Město nad Metují, a large millstone is set into the wall, flanked by almost illegible carved inscriptions.

The gate is easy to reach by following the main road into the village, which leads directly to the entrance. Keep in mind it remains an active thoroughfare, so visitors should be mindful of passing traffic and vehicles.

The gate's sandstone pillars carry reclining lions by sculptor Antonín Sucharda, facing each other across the road. Above the right-hand pedestrian gate, seen from Nové Město nad Metují, a large millstone is set into the masonry, flanked by inscriptions now almost illegible.
