Stúpa osvícení, stúpa in Těnovice
The Stupa of Enlightenment is a religious monument built from granite blocks and situated on a rocky hill at about 580 meters elevation above the nearby village. The structure stands approximately 7 meters tall and forms a clearly visible landmark in the landscape.
The monument was inaugurated in 2014 and marked a significant moment for Buddhism in the country. The opening ceremony was led by a respected spiritual teacher and drew people who wanted to honor this new religious site.
The site welcomes visitors to engage in meditation and contemplation. People walk clockwise around the structure, a practice designed to support quiet reflection and mindful observation.
A parking area is located near the site and provides convenient access for visitors. The route can be reached via a side road that branches off from the main way, making it straightforward to find.
The monument was built entirely from Czech granite blocks without concrete, which makes it a notable construction project. This building method was an intentional choice and made it one of the first Buddhist monuments of its kind in the region.
