Muzeum Broumovska

Muzeum Broumovska is a regional museum housed in a wing of the Benedictine monastery on the first floor, with six rooms displaying local collections and artifacts. The exhibition spans different historical periods and includes a Stone Hall dedicated to local finds and heritage items.

The museum was established in 1945 to preserve local history and moved to the Benedictine monastery in 1980. Its current permanent exhibition was set up around 1990 and continues to shape how visitors understand the region's past.

The museum tells the story of how people have lived and worked in the Broumov region across different time periods through its displayed items. The exhibition reveals everyday objects and treasures that reflect the lives of local inhabitants.

The museum operates from May through September, Tuesday through Sunday, with morning and afternoon sessions. Plan for a focused tour of the six rooms, which work well as a manageable half-day visit.

The museum preserves the Silver Bird of the Broumov shooters, a rare artifact from 1567 that reflects the importance of shooting clubs in local society. This ornate piece reveals how such associations were valued in the community.
