Church of Saint Adalbert, Catholic church in Otrokovice, Czech Republic
The Church of Saint Adalbert is a modern worship building in Otrokovice with an unusual silhouette resembling two hands joined together in prayer. The front facade displays carved Stations of the Cross as an artistic feature.
The building was constructed between 1992 and 1995 based on designs by architect Mojmir Korvas. Archbishop Jan Graubner performed the consecration ceremony when the new house of worship was completed.
The interior holds wooden statues of several saints and a ceramic relief of Saint Adalbert positioned above the altar. These works of art shape the spiritual character of the space and create a direct connection to the figures being honored.
The building is accessible to visitors during community opening hours and offers ample space for both tourists and worshippers. A special feature is access to the church tower, which opens to visitors during certain events throughout the year.
The church tower is crowned by three bells named after Saints Cyril and Methodius, Michael, and Adalbert. These bells represent a complete set dedicated to patron saints, each with its own sound and purpose.
