Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, Catholic church in Citice, Czech Republic.

The Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross is a simple single-nave functionalist building from 1930. A low prismatic tower with baroque-style roofing and a double-armed cross sits on the east side, set into the facade. The nave is lit by four large rectangular windows on each side, with similar windows in the facade.

A chapel was first considered in 1895 as lignite mining swelled Citice's population, but World War I delayed the plan. The Association for the Construction of the Church formed in January 1927, the foundation stone was laid on 22 June 1930, and the building was consecrated on 19 October 1930 as a filial church of the Sokolov parish. After the postwar expulsion of the German inhabitants it fell into disuse and decay; the civic association Zapomenuté světlo began repairs on 25 September 2004.

The church is a filial church of the Roman Catholic parish of Sokolov, consecrated on 19 October 1930. After the German population was displaced following the Second World War, it fell out of use and its furnishings were stolen or destroyed. Since 2004 the civic association Zapomenuté světlo has repaired it, and the interior now holds wall paintings with religious themes by the Sokolov artist Vladimír Cabalka.

The church stands in Citice, in the Sokolov district of the Karlovy Vary region, as a filial church of the Sokolov Roman Catholic parish. The building was saved from demolition by the civic association Zapomenuté světlo, which began repairs on 25 September 2004; the village contributed 130,000 crowns and further sums in 2019 and 2020. The tower and facade were reconstructed, and the interior now holds wall paintings on church themes by the Sokolov artist Vladimír Cabalka.

The church owes its existence to lignite mining: a fund for a chapel was set up in 1895, but World War I delayed the plan until the Association for the Construction of the Church was founded in January 1927. The foundation stone was laid on 22 June 1930 and the building was consecrated on 19 October 1930.
