Chapel of Saint Vladimir in Mohelnice, Religious chapel in Mohelnice, Czech Republic
The Chapel of Saint Vladimir is a church building with a rectangular floor plan and three-sided termination, topped by a hipped roof with a distinctive front gable. The structure displays simple, functional architecture with clear lines and balanced proportions.
The building was erected in 1906 as an evangelical church for the German-speaking evangelical community of the nearby city of Zábřeh. Its founding under German administration marked an important phase of religious diversity in the Moravian region.
The chapel serves today as a shared prayer space between the Czechoslovak Hussite Church and the Orthodox Church. This shared use shows how the building connects different faith communities in the town.
The chapel is located on Olomoucká street at number 216/177 and can be reached from both Olomoucká and Okružní streets. Access is possible from multiple sides, which allows for flexible visiting routes.
The interior of the chapel displays decorative details, including a shell motif in a central niche and vine patterns on the side decorations of the gable. These small ornamental elements add a touch of refinement to the otherwise simple structure.
