Hradubice Cycle Route, Bike route connecting Hradec Králové and Pardubice in the Czech Republic
The Hradubice Cycle Route is a paved bike path connecting Hradec Králové and Pardubice that spans about 23 kilometers. The trail runs alongside the Labe River and is being completed in stages, with connections to Kunětická hora castle becoming available soon.
The route grew from local efforts to improve connections between the two cities and has been developed in phases. Completion is planned for 2025, with several sections already open while the final segments are still being finished.
The route takes its name from the village of Hradubice that it connects. Visitors notice small wooden benches and informal gathering spots scattered along the path where locals enjoy spending time together.
The path is suitable for cyclists, skaters and walkers, though some newly completed sections may have variable surface conditions. Few shops are located along the route, so bring water and snacks before heading out.
The route crosses several historic wooden bridges and metal walkways over side channels and streams, giving the path an old-world character. These details make the journey less predictable and show how carefully the existing landscape was considered during construction.
