Cihlový most k Tichému ostrovu u Mikulova

The brick and stone bridge stretches 95 meters across Portz pond with fifteen semicircular vaulted arches supported by pilasters with pyramidal edges.

The bridge was constructed in the 1620s to connect the hunting lodge Portz on a limestone outcrop in the middle of Portz pond.

The bridge represents regional engineering skills through its combination of local construction techniques, using bricks from Mikulov kilns and limestone blocks.

After restoration in 2020, the bridge connects to a network of paths leading to Drasenhofen in Austria, with educational panels explaining its construction.

The bridge incorporated an early water management system with curved tile drainage openings and contained a wooden lifting section, later replaced by brickwork.
