This house in Ďáblice is a three-story residential building with twelve apartments built in the 1950s. The structure displays characteristic period features including a gabled roof and decorative cornices.
Architect Miloslav Wimmer designed this house between 1948 and 1955 as a pioneering work in post-war architecture. It was the first of its kind in Prague and used an innovative prefabricated construction system.
This house represents a turning point in Czech post-war residential design and shows an innovative construction approach. It shaped how people in the region understood modern apartment living.
The building sits on U Prefy Street and retains its original architectural details to this day. Visitors can easily observe the exterior features from street level.
Leftover construction panels from this project were later used to build the nearby Ďáblice Observatory. This connection shows how resources were creatively reused during that period.
