Glass House, Nový Bor, Corporate glass headquarters in Nový Bor, Czech Republic.

The Glass House is a corporate office building wrapped in around 1,400 semi-transparent glass tiles that cover its outer surfaces and create visual depth. The structure merges two restored 19th-century timber structures with contemporary extensions that frame the glazed core.

The Lasvit headquarters was built between 2014 and 2019, placing a new glass-clad building between timbered glassmakers' townhouses more than 200 years old. The entrance is in the listed Neoclassical house no. 170 at the corner of Palackého náměstí, built 1790–1793 with an atypical first-floor wooden bay. Renovation of the historic houses was carried out with the National Heritage Institute; a 20-metre well found during the work was kept and covered with a glass plate in an office floor.

The diamond-shaped glass tiles on the facade and roof take their form from the slate shingles traditionally used on roofs in the Česká Lípa region. The complex also incorporates restored timber and masonry houses over 200 years old, including a classicist house from 1790–1793 with a wooden bay. A 20-metre well found during renovation now sits under a glass plate in an office floor.

The entrance to the Lasvit headquarters is in the listed Neoclassical house No. 170 at the corner of Palackého náměstí and Palackého Street, built 1790–1793. The two-storey Glass House behind it holds a large exhibition hall with a vaulted concrete ceiling and shelves of Lasvit glassware; a café occupies the ground floor. During reconstruction a 20-metre well was found and kept under a glass plate in an office floor.

The glass panels covering the exterior shift in appearance throughout the day as natural light interacts with the surface in different ways. These optical effects make the building look different depending on the time of day and weather conditions.
