Pastviny u Srní is a protected natural monument in Stráž nad Ohří covering approximately 43 hectares of meadows, terraced fields, and forest areas between 555 and 735 meters in elevation. Two small streams flow through the Mufloní Valley, creating a landscape with distinct ecological zones.
The site received protected status as a natural monument on December 20, 2016, when the Karlovarský Regional Office designated it for conservation. This decision was made to safeguard the area's ecological significance.
The land displays traditional farming patterns through its network of field boundaries and stepped terraces. These features reflect how people in the region have cultivated the ground for generations.
The area can be explored using marked trails that connect different elevation points throughout the site. Wear sturdy footwear, as paths run through meadows and forested sections.
The area is home to hundreds of elder-flowered orchids alongside uncommon species like common vipers and Aesculapian snakes. These reptiles were documented during surveys from 2001 to 2014, revealing the diversity of wildlife present.
