Naučná stezka Les Svíb

Naučná stezka Les Svíb is an educational trail through a forested area between the villages of Čistěves and Máslojedy in Czech Republic. The route extends roughly 7.5 kilometers with about 21 informational stations positioned throughout its looped paths and branch trails.

The forest was a site of heavy fighting during the conflict between Prussian and Austrian forces in 1866. This region experienced some of the most intense combat of that war.

The trail displays monuments that remind visitors of historical events that took place in this forested area. The way these memorials are positioned along the route reflects how the local community has chosen to preserve and engage with this place.

The path is walkable at varying difficulty levels and can be visited throughout all seasons. Visitors should wear sturdy footwear and allow time to read the informational plaques at the various stations.

One notable section of the path is called the Avenue of the Dead and contains numerous stone monuments. This particular area serves as a specific remembrance for soldiers who fell during the wars fought in this forest.
