Nový dvůr

Nový Dvůr is a Benedictine monastery on an estate in the remote region of Lhotka, Bohemia. The compound comprises several buildings set across farmland and forest where residents live and work together.

The original Baroque manor was repurposed as the west wing of the monastery and remains part of the complex. New buildings gradually replaced other deteriorated structures across the site over time.

The residents here follow Benedictine rules and shape daily life through prayer and craft work. The community works together on various tasks to sustain and build their shared way of living.

The site lies in a remote rural area with limited visitor facilities and requires advance planning. Check ahead about access and visiting options, as these are not always open to the public.

The community generates income by making hand cream and packaging mustard in their own workshops. These practical works show how monasteries maintain financial independence through craft production today.
