The waterfall in this protected nature reserve drops about 2.3 meters (7.5 feet) as it flows through a rocky gorge. Dense vegetation lines the ravine, creating a confined space where the water cascades and collects in a small pool below.
The territory containing this gorge came under the control of Zbraslav monastery in 1621 after being taken from the Stern von Hirschfeld family. The monastery held influence over the area for centuries afterward.
