Lžín, Château in Dírná, Czech Republic

Lžín is a château located in Dírná within the Tábor District, situated among farmland and traditional village settlements of the Czech countryside. The building is currently undergoing renovation, which affects its external appearance and state of preservation.

Lžín was built in the mid-18th century as a summer residence for the Vyšebrod Monastery. In 1861 it passed to František Emanuel Komers, who had it rebuilt in the Neo-Renaissance style. In the 1980s the Husite Museum in Tábor used it as a depository, after which it fell into disrepair; it has been under reconstruction since around 2021.

The château's name comes from the village of Lžín in the Tábor District of South Bohemia, where it stands. Originally a summer residence of the Vyšebrod Monastery, it was rebuilt in Neo-Renaissance style after 1861 for František Emanuel Komers. In the 1980s the Husite Museum in Tábor used it as a depository.

The building is currently under renovation, so interior access is not available to visitors. You can view the structure from the surrounding roads and take photographs from outside.
