Tršický vodopád, Artificial waterfall in Tršice, Czech Republic
Tršický vodopád is an artificial waterfall in Tršice that forms where the castle pond overflow spills over a rocky cliff. The cascade drops roughly three meters into the Olešnice stream below.
The waterfall appeared when the castle pond was built as part of its water management system, showing early engineering solutions in the region. The artificial construction allowed excess water to drain in a controlled way.
Local residents gather near the waterfall during summer events, maintaining connections between the community and this manufactured natural element.
You can reach the waterfall by following the road alongside the Olešnice stream, and you will hear it before you see it. The best views are from the road or nearby paths that run close to the water.
The water flow at the waterfall shifts with the castle pond levels, creating different patterns on the rock surface as seasons change. During heavy rains it becomes quite powerful, while in drier months it can be much gentler.
