Memorial of the Three Resistances

The Memorial of the Three Resistances occupies a former farmhouse that was redesigned as a commemorative space by architect Iva Keselicová. The building presents exhibitions about resistance during World War I, Nazi occupation from 1939 to 1945, and Communist rule in later decades.

The memorial honors three phases of Czech resistance: against Austro-Hungarian rule during World War I, against Nazi occupation, and against Soviet control. Its opening in 2022 links the site to Josef Mašín, whose family played an active role across these different periods of struggle.

The site tells the story of the Mašín family and how ordinary people resisted different occupations over generations. Visitors can see personal items and documents that reveal how resistance shaped the daily lives of those who lived here.

The site is easily accessible on foot and offers both indoor and outdoor areas for visitors to explore. The exhibitions are spread across multiple rooms, so visitors should allow time to view all sections of the historical narrative.
