Saint Mary's Catholic Church

Saint Mary's is the fourth structure built by this parish, displaying contemporary architectural design within a red brick exterior. The building incorporates functional spaces for worship and gathering while maintaining a straightforward, modern approach to church design.

The first church appeared in 1849 to serve German-speaking Catholics in the area and anchored the immigrant community's spiritual life. Subsequent buildings replaced earlier structures after various incidents, reflecting the parish's evolution and persistence over generations.

The previous building was a towering Gothic Revival structure that stood 237 feet (72 meters) tall and earned recognition as a historic landmark. This significant structure was lost in 1993, leading to the construction of the current church.
