Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, Bronze monument at Embassy Row in Washington DC, US

This bronze statue depicts Mustafa Kemal Atatürk wearing a three-piece suit and holding a book, positioned near the Turkish Embassy on Embassy Row. The figure stands on a semicircular stone base that forms an integrated part of the composition.

The statue was installed in 2013 to commemorate 90 years since Turkey's founding and 75 years since Atatürk's death. This monument was commissioned by the Turkish government to honor the nation's founder and keep his memory alive in the capital.

The inscription 'Peace at Home / Peace in the World' on the stone balustrade expresses Atatürk's belief in peaceful coexistence and diplomacy. Visitors walking past can read this message and grasp what this leader valued most for his nation.

The monument is located at 1606 23rd Street NW adjacent to Sheridan Circle, making it easily accessible for anyone exploring the embassy district. Access is free and the statue is situated on public grounds for casual visits.

Artist Jeffrey L. Hall developed the sculpture through three progressive clay models before the final bronze casting at a foundry near Philadelphia. This hands-on process reflects the careful planning that went into creating this work.
