Glencoe Museum

Glencoe Museum occupies a three-story brick building that houses a collection of regional artifacts and artworks in its galleries. The structure displays Second Empire architectural features with distinctive exterior details typical of that era.

The building was constructed in 1875 as a residence for the Wharton family, prominent figures in Southwest Virginia's post-Civil War growth. It was later transformed into a museum to preserve this regional heritage.

The galleries show works by local artists in rotating exhibits alongside historical documents and photographs that capture the community's past. These collections reflect how residents have preserved their own stories over time.

The museum is open Wednesday through Saturday from 10 AM to 4 PM and Sunday from 1 PM to 4 PM with no admission fee. An elevator system provides access to multiple floors, and audio guides are available through a mobile app.
