American Waltham Watch Company Historic District, Industrial complex from 1870s in Waltham, United States.

The factory buildings stretch 1000 feet along the Charles River with red brick facades featuring large sash windows and Romanesque architectural elements.

Founded in 1854, the American Waltham Watch Company pioneered mass production techniques by creating complete watches under a single roof with interchangeable parts.

The manufacturing facility established new workplace standards by including daycare facilities and prioritizing worker safety during the industrial revolution period.

The former watch manufacturing complex now contains residential units, commercial spaces, and industrial facilities following an environmental conversion project.

The factory produced 35 million watches between 1854 and 1957, including a timepiece owned by President Abraham Lincoln from January 1863.
