Grand Castle, Apartment complex in Grandville, Michigan, United States

Grand Castle is a 15-story residential development in Grandville, Michigan, inspired by Neuschwanstein Castle. It contains 508 apartments ranging from studios to three-story penthouses, built with precast concrete walls, steel panel roofing and "Red Iron" roof trusses. The 23.6-acre site adjoins the 52-acre Sanford Lake.

The site was previously occupied by a mobile home park that had operated since 1957. The transformation to the current castle began in 2016 when construction of the complex started.

The design copies Neuschwanstein Castle in Bavaria, which owner Roger Lucas said he and his family visited at least ten times. The name and turreted silhouette are the talking point; the structure itself is a 2016-onward apartment block of precast concrete walls and siding, steel panel roofing and "Red Iron" roof trusses.

The complex stands at 28th Street in Grandville, near the 52-acre Sanford Lake that adjoins the site; the lake is reached by a walking trail and used for swimming, fishing and kayaking. Covered parking, a clubhouse, a swimming pool, a dog park and a community beach with fire pits are planned on the grounds. Phase II adds 13 carriage-house buildings and 64,500 square feet of office and retail space along 28th Street.

The 52-acre Sanford Lake beside the site is a former Grand Rapids Gravel Company gravel pit; mining ended years ago and it now holds ducks, geese, northern pike and largemouth bass. Grand Castle LLC bought the lake in 2016, and residents can swim, fish or kayak there.
