The Statue of Tony Gwynn is a 9.5-foot bronze sculpture by William Behrends outside Petco Park. It shows Gwynn in a batting stance, cap on, bat raised behind his right shoulder, legs spread and weight shifted back. The figure stands on a light gray stone pedestal with a stepped lower base and a tapered upper block engraved "TONY GWYNN" and "MR. PADRE".
The bronze sculpture by William Behrends was installed outside Petco Park in 2007. After Tony Gwynn died in 2014, fans gathered at the statue to pay tribute, and it has since become the rallying point for remembering him.
