Similajau National Park, Coastal national park in Bintulu Division, Malaysia.
Similajau is a coastal national park in Bintulu Division spanning around 89 square kilometers along the South China Sea. It combines sandy beaches, mangrove forests, and three distinct forest types within its boundaries.
Malaysian authorities established this coastal area as a national park in 1976. A significant expansion added more land to the park in 2000.
The interpretation center displays exhibits about local flora and fauna, including a Cuvier's beaked whale skeleton. Visitors learn about the different habitats that shape the park through these displays.
Visitors can reach the park by taxi from Bintulu, a journey of roughly 30 kilometers. Public transportation does not serve the entrance directly.
Five dolphin species visit the park's waters from March to September. During this same season, green sea turtles come ashore on specific beaches to nest.
