Grandvalira is a large ski area spanning two valleys with more than 200 kilometers of slopes for all skill levels, from beginners to advanced skiers. The terrain spreads across multiple connected zones with varied difficulty grades.
This ski area was created by linking separate valleys and ski zones into one connected network during the 1980s. That connection made it the largest ski region in Southern Europe.
Winter sports have shaped how people in this region spend their cold months, with skiing becoming a natural part of mountain life here. The resort's restaurants serve local dishes that connect visitors to regional food traditions.
The area is served by around 70 lifts that move skiers across the different zones, with access points at various elevations. Knowing the lift layout helps you move efficiently between different sections.
Artificial snowmaking covers roughly 270 hectares of the area and ensures snow coverage from December through April. This provides reliable conditions even when natural snowfall is lighter.
