The Antiga Vegueria Francesa was built in the 1930s as a multi-family residential building on Avinguda Meritxell. It later became the first permanent seat of the French veguería established inside Andorra, which gives the house its name and its listed heritage status.

The name recalls its role as the first fixed seat of the French veguería inside Andorra, a judicial and administrative office representing French interests. The building is a plurifamily granite block from the 1930s, and its street front shows round-arched openings, balconies on rounded granite corbels and a projecting central tribune.

The building sits at 13 Meritxell Avenue in the downtown area and is easy to reach on foot from most central locations. As a private residential property, visitors can view it from the street, though the interior is not open to the public.
