Sant Miquel d'Engolasters is a Romanesque church in Escaldes-Engordany with a single rectangular nave ending in a semicircular apse decorated with Lombard arcading. A later porch stands before the south door. Its square bell tower, disproportionately tall, has three levels of double-arched windows and carved stone heads under the top arches.
The church was built between the 11th and 12th centuries, with most scholars placing its construction in the early 12th century. It is registered as a heritage property in Andorra's Cultural Heritage inventory. The south-wall porch was added after the rest of the building.
The murals that once covered the apse and presbytery are Romanesque works; the exact reproductions now seen inside stand in for the originals, held at the Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya in Barcelona. The church is listed in Andorra's cultural heritage register.
The church sits at 1504 meters elevation and is reachable via the CG-2 road from Escaldes-Engordany by following signs toward Engolasters Lake. It is best visited during daylight hours to fully appreciate the building and its surroundings.
The bell tower features carved stone heads beneath its uppermost arched window and appears noticeably oversized compared to the main building. This unusual proportional relationship makes it a striking architectural feature worth observing.
