The museum occupies 500 square meters on the ground floor of a granite building with a honeycomb-patterned facade in central Escaldes-Engordany.
The Carmen Thyssen Museum of Andorra opened in March 2017 as the third museum established by Baroness Thyssen, following locations in Malaga and Sant Feliu de Guixols.
The collection presents rotating exhibitions of 19th and 20th-century paintings from the extensive Carmen Thyssen-Bornemisza private collection, changing every eleven months.
The museum operates Tuesday through Friday from 10 AM to 6 PM, Saturdays until 7 PM, and Sundays from 10 AM to 2 PM, with general admission at 9 euros.
UNESCO nominated this institution as Europe's best new museum in 2018, while The Guardian included it among 20 recommended museums worldwide.
