Emirates National Auto Museum, Automobile museum in Al Dhafra, United Arab Emirates
The Emirates National Auto Museum is an automobile museum in Al Dhafra housing more than 200 vehicles under a distinctive pyramid-shaped roof. The structure contains extensive exhibition spaces displaying military vehicles, vintage cars, and a full range of Mercedes models in every color.
The museum was founded by Sheikh Hamad bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, a member of the ruling family with a passion for collecting vehicles across different decades. His collection documents the evolution of automobiles from their early years to more modern designs.
The collection reflects how vehicles shaped transportation and daily life across different periods and regions. Visitors can see military vehicles and cars that tell stories about travel, work, and leisure habits throughout history.
The museum is located in Al Dhafra, south of Abu Dhabi, and is easily accessible by car. Visitors should plan several hours to explore the extensive collection and walk through all exhibition halls.
The museum houses an oversized drivable Willys Jeep built at roughly four times the normal size, a remarkable engineering feat. The collection also includes a 122-ton caravan with eight bedrooms, one of the world's largest mobile homes.
