Poloz Mukuch Beerhouse

The Poloz Mukuch Beerhouse occupies a two-story mansion from the 1860s with traditional Armenian architectural features and a prominent entrance displaying a commemorative bust.

The building, constructed during Imperial Russia's rule by Ter-Suqias Meliqyan, transformed into a state beerhouse in the 1960s and underwent privatization in the late 1990s.

The establishment bears the name of Mkrtich Melkonyan, a local satirist from 1881 to 1931, who enriched Armenian verbal traditions with his witty stories and fables.

Located on Jivani Street in the historic quarter, this restaurant serves Armenian dishes and maintains regular service hours throughout the week for both locals and visitors.

The venue preserves elements from different periods of Armenian history, from its Imperial Russian origins through the Soviet era to modern-day independent Armenia.
