Punta Rocas is a beach on Peru's Pacific coast, south of Lima, where sandy stretches alternate with rocky formations along the shoreline. The rocks along the coast create breaking waves that make this one of the most recognized surf spots in the country.
The beach gained international recognition in the 1960s when Peruvian surfers won major titles at competitions held here. Those early victories helped establish this spot as a reference point for professional surfing in South America.
