Park Samanes

Park Samanes is a large green space in northern Guayaquil with extensive walking and cycling paths plus numerous sports facilities. The park features dedicated areas for different sports activities and zones devoted to nature.

The park was established in 2013 on land that was formerly a military facility. It was created as part of a major urban ecological restoration project for the region.

The park hosts concerts and large events that draw crowds from across the city for celebrations and performances. It has become a gathering place where the community comes together for cultural activities.

The park is large and best explored by bike or on foot, with clear pathways through the different sections. Visitors should allow plenty of time to explore since there is much ground to cover.

The grounds house a dry forest with more than 40 bird species, including flycatchers and various duck species. This rare ecosystem island in the middle of the city offers visitors a chance to watch wild birds in their natural setting.
