Ofrenda floral a Sarmiento, Memorial relief in Palermo, Argentina.
The marble sculpture depicts Domingo Faustino Sarmiento seated while receiving flowers from children at Rosedal Park in Buenos Aires.
French artist Émile Peynot created this marble relief in 1915, and the monument was officially inaugurated in September 1938.
The memorial represents Sarmiento's educational legacy through the symbolic gesture of children presenting flowers to the influential Argentine statesman.
The monument stands at the end of Rosedal Park's main path, protected by metal railings to prevent vandalism.
The 18-ton marble sculpture required extensive restoration in 1987, including a complete reconstruction of Sarmiento's head by sculptor Noé Da Prato.
