The stadium was founded several decades ago and is one of the oldest sports centers in the region. In 2024, it underwent major renovation with its capacity expanded from fifteen thousand to over sixteen thousand seats.
The name IV Centenario refers to the four-hundredth anniversary of the city of Tarija. The stadium serves the local community as a gathering place where fans cheer for their teams and share moments of celebration or disappointment together.
The stadium sits at around two thousand meters elevation in the mountains, something visitors from lower altitudes should keep in mind. It features newly added preferred seating with five hundred fifty extra seats offering better views and increased comfort during matches.
