Cathedral of Maringá

The Cathedral of Maringá features a cone-shaped structure rising 124 meters high, with a 10-meter cross mounted at its summit.

Construction of the cathedral began in July 1959 after Pope Pius XII provided a marble piece from St Peter's Basilica excavations as its foundation stone.

The cathedral holds religious ceremonies, exhibits stained glass art installations, and maintains a crypt with 1,360 burial chambers beneath the main altar.

The cathedral administration office remains open during weekdays, providing information about masses, ceremonies, and guided visits to the religious complex.

Water fountains surrounding the cathedral spray jets reaching five meters high, creating reflections in the pools around the building structure.
