Parish Church of Our Lady of the Candles, Catholic church in Itu, Brazil
The white stone church features a symmetrical facade with two bell towers, ornate decorations, and a central entrance with stairs leading to the main door.
The Parish Church of Our Lady of the Candles opened in 1780 under Father João Leite Ferraz's guidance, with the facade completed in 1831 including towers and bells.
Interior paintings by José Patrício da Silva and Father Jesuíno do Monte Carmelo represent significant examples of Brazilian Baroque and Rococo artistic styles.
Located in Padre Miguel Square, the church holds masses Monday through Friday at noon, Saturdays at 7 PM, and Sundays at 7 AM, 10 AM, and 7 PM.
The church houses a French Cavaillè-coll pipe organ from 1883 and contains ceiling paintings by Italian artist Lavínia Cereda created in 1878.
