Teatro São Pedro displays eclectic architecture with neoclassical elements and art nouveau details across its 1,373 square meters structure in central São Paulo.
The Portuguese entrepreneur Manuel Fernandes Lopes inaugurated Teatro São Pedro on January 20, 1917, making it the second oldest operating theater in São Paulo.
The theater houses the São Pedro Theater Orchestra and Opera Academy, providing professional training for young singers through regular opera productions and concerts.
Located at Rua Barra Funda 171, the theater presents diverse performances including operas, classical concerts, and theatrical productions with tickets ranging from R$10 to R$100.
During the 1960s military dictatorship, artists Fernando Torres and Fernanda Montenegro saved the theater from demolition, transforming it into a space for experimental performances.
