Church of Our Lady of the Rosary and Saint Benedict

The religious building features a colonial facade, three altars, and polychrome retables decorated with gold and silver carvings in the interior.

Founded in 1730 near Prainha Stream, the church stands as the only remaining structure among the four original buildings of early Cuiabá.

The church holds the Saint Benedict Festival each July, the longest religious celebration in Mato Grosso state with traditional processions and gatherings.

The church opens daily for visitors to explore its architectural elements, religious artifacts, and participate in regular Catholic services.

The interior displays rare superimposed throne structures in bombé form, housing the central image of Our Lady of the Rosary.
